The Teddy Awards were originally created in 2013 in a conversation between Donna and Char; our late Founding Vice President. Together Char and Donna wanted each one of our volunteers to be recognized and realize just how valuable their labor, talent, professionalism, teamwork, and the love they all have to make that choice to be a TBC Volunteer is! Saying thank you can never be enough, for we are compelled from our innate hearts to extend to each of our wonderful volunteers, our affection, and admiration because you care more, learn more, dream more, and give more.
These awards are nominated by their own peers, and voted by anyone who would like to vote through a public voting system.
THE CHARLOTTE NEWTON TBC CARE AWARD:
In memory of our Founding Vice President, Char Newton; the TBC Board of Directors created this award to recognize the one business or individual that has contributed the highest donation for that year. This award is calculated by the documents, and records through the accounting department of TBC, and is then voted on by the entire Board of Directors in a closed executive session.
THE TBC CARE AWARD:
The TBC CARE Awards were designed to show our appreciation and thanks to the small list of people that helped care for Teddy during his lifetime, and/or during his time on “doggie hospice”. These people are nominated because they selflessly gave of themselves without hesitation, or thought to anything other than taking care of Teddy in some way. Thus demonstrating their devoted love to others, and animals. Their love for Teddy was reflected in what they did, and is an extension of the mission that was started for TBC! The nominees names are selected each year through a drawing done by Donna and are voted on by the TBC Board of Directors after the voting polls were completed.
THE TBC VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD:
This is a brand new TBC award! The Board of Directors designed this award to appreciate the one volunteer that stands out from the rest. ALL our volunteers are an essential foundation to the work and mission of TBC in our community. But there is always that one individual that seems to work harder, smarter, works with everyone, has a great attitude, demonstrates teamwork, professionalism, and is a leader among the group, and continues to work from their heart. This award is voted on by the TBC Board of Directors through the field work sheets, and data that is turned in throughout each year.
